Now Marina Kaye’s dark pop is returning with her third album, more daring, intense and mature. On “Twisted”, her powerful voice, with a unique tone, is more theatrical and more pop than ever, perfectly complementing the powerful lyrics she always co-wites. Stylistically, her music may jump between piano pop balladry and electronic/R&B sounds, but Marina’s penchant for setting an intimate mood remains central, expressing force and vulnerability. Her songs are always very personal even if they’re cloaked in metaphor. “If you can read between the lines – if you listen to my songs very closely – you can know everything about me.” Marina also wants listeners to be able to identify their own stories in her music.
